THE APPEAL
The XK8 is a combination of seductive, sweeping looks and V8 splendour, an undeniably gorgeous car with a soundtrack to match. Released in 1996 the XK8 has been adored from day one with just under 70,000 produced up until 2005 its final year, yet many still frequent the roads in coupé and convertible form.
Designed as a luxury grand tourer, the XK8 is a sublime car to drive especially with the top down allowing you to be surrounded by those bellowing exhaust notes.
This being a limited edition Performance S with the performance brakes, wheels and electronic suspension. The car has forward facing radar, meaning once on the motorway it can be set to follow the traffic and will brake and accelerate with traffic ahead, only needing the driver to steer.
This 2005 registered convertible is finished in Sea Frost metallic and Ivory leather interior and is in fantastic shape, with a maintenance record to match.

Inside the Jag, you are greeted with sophisticated luxury and classiness. The Ivory leather is in fantastic condition with next to no sign of any wear or use on any of the comfortable seats. It's a similar situation throughout, to be honest, with the veneer looking glossy and the carpets looking in fine condition, it's quite evident that the car has been cared for and cherished by anyone lucky enough to own it.
The working Motorola phone still sits tucked in the centre console, a reminder of an era when technology was fast becoming a necessity in our lives. You’re infected with a sense of importance behind the wheel of this car, stately, someone with taste and class, yet with the roof down and V8 blaring those feelings are transformed and your speed craving alter ego is let loose.

The muscular, sporty design paired with large 20’’ alloys in a gorgeous colour combination really makes this car an attractive buy. Roof up or down, rain or shine this XK8 is stunning. The tan fabric roof is in great shape, with only the usual storage creases present and the metallic paint is almost unmarked, with only the tiniest of blemishes present on the front bumper and rear number plate.
The 20’’ Sepang alloys are unscathed and add further aggression to the already masculine stance the car provides, especially with the roof down and tucked away under its cover. This is when the car is at its best and really draws in the crowd, transforming from an attractive, grand tourer to a stunning British brute.

During our visit, the Jaguar was manoeuvred a short distance for the photographer, it started effortlessly and provided a spectacular noise from the twin exhausts. The 4.2L V8 idled confidently and purred purposefully as the car made its way down the country lane, a noise perfectly suited to the car's aesthetics.
A folder of past maintenance alongside the original manufactures service book is included with the car, with pages of invoices present. The last service was carried out in May 2022, with only a few hundred miles covered since. It's very evident the car has lived a comprehensively cared-for life from its mechanical portfolio alone.
SUMMARY
The XK8 is a thrilling classic thanks to its gorgeous looks and incredible 4.2L V8. This cherished car is a great example of the British grand tourer, thanks to its super condition and mechanical portfolio. The XK8 will no doubt become sought after further as many owners will reluctantly want to give up one of the most enjoyable cars ever built by Jaguar.
