THE BACKGROUND

The CLK is a well known mid size, entry level luxury vehicles produced by Mercedes-Benz between the years of 1997 and 2010, they created a new market niche. Aesthetically produced  with the Mercedes E-Class in mind, using parts from the W210 model, it was actually mechanically based on the cheaper C-Class (W202) platform to help keep production costs down and retain a smaller frame size overall. An ideal competitor for the 3-series BMW and the Audi A4.

THE HISTORY

This lovely black-on-black CLK200 has been wonderfully cared for over the span of its previous ownerships with well maintained service records and invoiced for required repairs, the original service book showcases 7 services and there has been some recent mechanical work carried out in 2021 to keep the car up to standard.
The bodywork and interior appear to be in very nice shape, which we’ll go into further detail about, especially given the mileage of the car. You could be fooled into believing it would be much, much less! This just echoes how well taken care of and cherished this CLK has been over the years. CLK’s make for fantastic 4-seater luxury daily drivers given the surprising amount of space and comfort they can provide.

THE PAPERWORK

The original service book is available with the car showcasing the 7 services as previously mentioned, there is also paperwork available for maintenance work carried out on the vehicle and MOT certificates.

THE INTERIOR

Finished in black leather and black cloth sport seats, which show a surprisingly small amount of wear for the car's age and mileage. The driver seat still maintains its great comfort with seemingly no signs of leather stretching and all of the stitching is completely intact, the fabric portions look great too with no unwelcome discolouration.

Much the same can be said for the passenger side front seat, too - not much signs of use and the leather still looks healthy and unweathered! Moving to the rear seats, all of the leather looks almost unused as do the fabric portions, a very well cared for interior - thats for sure!
The dashboard has no unwelcome warning lights and the dials and gauges all work as they are intended to, as do all of the control buttons and switches located on the control panel. All of the screen printed text is still clearly visible and doesn’t appear to have worn off at all. The only real signs of wear here would be on the steering wheel, the leather has become quite shiny from use with some minor scratches however all the stitching remains in place with no rips or tears.
The interior carpets are all very well presented with no holes or flat-spotted areas which is very admirable, and the headliner is also in nice condition with no sagging areas or damage - the roof remains watertight and still functions properly as it should with the touch of a button!

THE EXTERIOR

This CLK oozes absolute class with its beautiful Obsidian Black paintwork, there’s just something about a black Mercedes that screams luxury. Starting at the front of the car, the front bumper is in nice shape with no scuffs or damage, just the usual stone chips which have been touched in.

The headlight lenses still have great levels of clarity and don’t show much signs of fading, and they contain no cracks or damage either. The classical chrome Mercedes grill is still apparent, the chrome portions do have some slight fading however this is almost unavoidable. The bonnet is in very much the same condition, no damage, just the odd stone chip which has been touched in to help make them less noticeable.
On to the wheels, the passenger side front alloy is in presentable condition however does appear to have some signs of corrosion under the paint when looking at the lug nut recesses and around the centre cap. The driver side front wheel does show similar signs of the same corrosion in the lug nut recesses however they are less noticeable.

The rear alloys appear to have similar signs, again not as noticeable however, the silver paintwork on the alloys is still bright and the alloys themselves have very little damage, only some very small and faint scratching on the very outer lips near the tyres that you’d really have to be looking for - otherwise these wheels look fantastic for their age!
All arches of the vehicle appear to be free of corrosion which is a great sign for a car of this age, it reflects the care and attention taken throughout the vehicle's lifetime. The doors all open and close with no excessive force needed as expected and panel gaps look to be as precise as they should be. Of course, being a car of this age and mileage the paintwork isn’t absolutely flawless, it does have the odd car park mark however overall, it appears to be a very honest and tidy vehicle.
To the rear of the vehicle, the rear lights still function properly and the lenses seem free from any damage or fading, still looking lovely and fresh and present that unmistakable Mercedes shape we all know. The tailgate opens with ease and shows no signs of corrosion or damage, and the same can be said for the rear bumper.

When this vehicle was being purchased it appears the first buyer opted for the model designation removal, which makes for a great game of taking your friends out for a spin and seeing if they can tell you have the 4-cylinder model.. Because this lovely CLK still packs a nice bit of power for what it is!

THE MECHANICS

Powered by a supercharged 2.0L inline 4-cylinder, and creating 161bhp and 170lb/ft of torque, it’s certainly enough to get you around at a fair pace, the car doesn’t struggle at all thanks to that smooth automatic gearbox. We’re told a good bit of maintenance was done on the vehicle in 2021 which included the drive belt, new spark plugs, new rear brake pads, and an oil and filter service at the mileage of 104,421 - so you can rest assured that the vehicle is in good shape and still roadworthy thanks to the recent work and the new MOT.
A supercharged engine is becoming a very rare sight in the modern world, and it introduces the benefits of forced induction with the advantages of natural aspiration, in the sense that you can create boost pressure much like a turbocharger, however you don’t have the turbo-lag associated with it. Supercharged engines create power instantly, there’s no waiting around for it! This makes for fantastic usability and they’re well known for their reliability.

THE APPEAL

A drop top, triple black, CLK Mercedes, what’s not to love? Well maintained examples such as this are becoming a rare sight, especially in the supercharged Kompressor variant - which makes for some fantastic drivability. If you like riding in luxury, and wouldn’t mind having the roof down on those lovely summer nights, don’t miss out on this one!

Ammontare dell'offerta Incremento
Da £0 a £9,999 £100.00
Da £10,000 a £49,999 £250.00
Da £50,000 a £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Superamento immediato dell'offerta
