THE APPEAL
When it comes to 4x4 or off-road vehicles there’s a manufacturer consistently seen to be the leader of the pack and champions of the dirt and that is Land Rover.
They have been producing capable and iconic vehicles for decades, one of which is the notorious Discovery.
This proven all-terrain conqueror is the number one choice for most when it comes to wanting a capable and comfortable vehicle that will climb mountains and cross rivers but also complete the school run and provide ample room for the weekly food shop.
This Discovery features all the usual toys you would now expect from the luxury SUV brand however it is also equipped with increased off-road functionality thanks to its G4 upgrades.
This capability-increasing conversion was fitted to assist with the 2008 Burnaby Blue expedition, which saw a charity organisation, including Prince Harry, tour Africa providing aid and help to those in difficult-to-reach locations.

One of the main factors of a Discovery's appeal lies in its interior, not only are these 4x4s built to be prestigiously comfortable and luxurious, equipped with high-end tech and outrageous features such as a TV and a fridge but they’re also built to be versatile and robust.
Take the seats for example, you’ve got the option of seven seats, five seats with a large boot, or two seats and essentially a van-like cargo space.
These seats are all in good condition, with only small amounts of use present.
The door cards carry the worst of the wear, with marks and scuffs visible but overall things are very good considering where the vehicle has been.

With go-anywhere looks and aggressive, purposeful styling this Discovery looks the business.
The Atacama Sand paint is a perfect match for the overland, safari look provided by the G4 modifications and while there are a few dents and scratches present, the general condition is good.
The vendor has noted the following blemishes: Paint scratch off side rear adjacent tail gate, paint scratch by near side rear door, paint scratch on bonnet, paint scratch on front bumper, small dent/scuff to rear near side door.
The vehicle has been treated with Lanoguard rust prevention underneath.

During our visit, the Discovery was manoeuvred a short distance for the photographer, it started without issue with the 2.7L V6 diesel kicking and idling well.
The car was only driven a short distance but was moved a couple of times with reverse being engaged easily. The ride height was also adjusted during the shoot, with all airbags operating fine.
A folder of past maintenance alongside the original manufactures service book is included with the car, with pages of invoices present. The last service was carried out in May 2022, with a handful of miles covered since.
The current owner has had the vehicle since 2009 and has kept it regularly maintained and reports no issues and is only selling as they have purchased another Land Rover.
