NO RESERVE - 2006 Rover 75 V8 (Mustang engine)

Highlights

  • LPG converted
  • Very low mileage
  • Only three owners from new

The Appeal

This Rover 75 V8 presents a rare opportunity to own one of the last true Rovers. Building on the success of the 75 the V8 packed in a 4.6l Ford Mustang engine to produce a car that provided a luxurious driving experience with plenty of power on hand.
While exact production numbers are contested amongst enthusiasts, the consensus is that fewer than 150 V8's carried the Rover badge.  This 75 V8 is in excellent condition, clearly having been very well cared for throughout its life and offers that combination of luxury and power that the 75 V8 was designed for. The car looks fantastic inside and out and would make a fine addition to any collection.
The LPG conversion means that a trip to the pumps isn’t the eye-watering experience it might otherwise be and with MOT until August 2023 it’s ready to drive and enjoy.

The History and Paperwork

  • V5 Present and correct
  • Same owner since 2015
  • MOT to August 2023
  • Full set of service stamps
  • Only three owners on the V5C (although only 2 have driven it)
  • Previous MOTs document the low mileage

The Interior

  • Black leather seats with white piping
  • Classic early 2000’s Rover aesthetics
  • Leather and wood steering wheel in excellent condition
  • Door cards, dashboard, headlining and trim all present very well
  • Sunroof
  • Rear middle seat belt shows significant fraying
  • Original Rover sat nav and television
  • Dual zone climate control
  • Electric seats
  • Reversing sensors
The Rover 75 was known for providing a luxurious driving experience and the 75 V8 was no different. With extensive use of leather and wood the interior still feels as good today as it did when it rolled out of the factory. WIth classic 2000’s design featuring lots of curving surfaces it makes for a very comfortable and aesthetically appealing interior for both the driver and the passengers. The dashboard must be one of the most elegant designs of this period and really demonstrates the luxury feel Rover was seeking to produce with the 75 V8.
The interior is in very good condition throughout with the extensive use of wood all presenting beautifully in classic Rover style. Combined with the wood trim, the seats are finished in black leather with white piping and show few signs of wear, whilst being fully electrically adjustable. The interior is entirely unmodified and comes with the original Rover radio/sat nav. The original television retains its remote control and still works, having been converted from analogue to digital. There is a CD multichanger in the boot and apparently the sound quality is excellent.

The rear middle seat belt shows some fraying, but this does little to detract from the otherwise impeccable presentation of the interior.

The Exterior

  • Very good condition throughout
  • Original Rover alloy wheels in very good condition with one showing some signs of light kerbing
  • Light lenses, trim, bright work and windows all in very good condition
  • Mustang badge on the rear
  • Some very minor imperfections as to be expected with a car if this age - shown in images
The Rover 75 V8 retains the elegant and clean design of the original 75, but with some subtle refinements. The front end has received a minor re-work with tweaks to the grille to give the car a somewhat more imposing presence and along with some less subtle re-badging such as the mustang badge on the rear, the car makes a very good first impression.
It’s in excellent overall condition thanks to careful ownership and the very low mileage. There are some minor blemishes in the form of some small stone chips, one very small dent and some very light kerbing to one of the wheels, but given the age of the car and the otherwise excellent presentation we think these can be forgiven. The combination of Platinum Gold paint, elegant design and the use of chrome trim produce a car that, whilst still understated, is both elegant and stylish.

The Mechanics

  • Very low mileage
  • Long MOT
  • Just serviced at 30,845 miles
  • LPG conversion with tank in the boot
  • 4.6-litre Ford Mustang engine
  • Undersides present excellently
It’s plain to see from the images that this car has been very well cared for, but that's what you’d expect with a Rover 75 V8, less boy racer and more gentleman driver. The condition of the car is perhaps no better demonstrated than on the underside, which presents exceptionally well and is often the tell tale area for a car that has been poorly treated. With only three owners, a full set of service stamps and having covered just a shade over 30,000 miles, this Rover's mechanicals present very well indeed.
The owner informs us that the big Ford Mustang engine starts easily on a turn of the key and that the car accelerates very well, braking quickly and surely without pulling to either side. They also tell us that the Zavoli LPG system works exactly as it should, making this big V8 Rover a surprisingly economical car.. The engine starts on petrol but switches automatically to gas after a short while, depending on the ambient temperature.
As with the big naturally aspirated V8 the owner tells us that the automatic gearbox works perfectly, shifting on time and surely making for a very relaxed driving experience.

Summary

Presenting in nicely original condition, with very low mileage, a practical LPG conversion, only three owners from new and with a long MOT, this is a fantastic opportunity to own one of the last and best Rovers.

Ammontare dell'offerta Incremento
Da £0 a £9,999 £100.00
Da £10,000 a £49,999 £250.00
Da £50,000 a £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Superamento immediato dell'offerta
