Beschreibung
Ex-Military Series 2A Land Rover swb petrol. Was used frequently & in good working order, until personal/ lifestyle changes meant it has been SORN & sat untouched in the back garden for 12 years. It is now a restoration/ rejuvenation project with many original features. Purchaser will require a trailer to collect due to the duration the vehicle has been inactive. Other than surface rust underneath, the chassis and axles are still in good condition, with only three small areas of the chassis that would need patching, eg. front and rear crossmembers. Main Bulkhead is in generally good condition, footwells and gearbox tunnel were modified by a previous owner due to fitment of a Rover V8 petrol engine (removed by current owner and replaced with Rover military 2, 1/ 4 petrol engine).
It is a registered historic, military vehicle(1962-1972) with features including twin under-seat petrol tanks, front & rear tow jaw, front bumper, glass screw light lenses, convoy number plate light, front wing aerial mount holes, start button with ignition/ lighting switch, safari sun visor, full set of 6. 50x16 Goodyear xtra grip tyres on military split-rims, rear cat-flap tailgate.
Previous modifications include lwb brakes and servo, salisbury rear axle to meet power of V8 engine (later replaced with a more original and reliable 2 1/ 4 petrol engine), defender style front radiator panel (required to give room for V8) with ready to plumb-in military oil cooler, defender style wheel arch spats to match 7. 50x16 general sag mud tyres on white steel 8-spoke wheels with locking wheel nuts. Rear 1/ 4 chassis and front dumb-irons replaced approx 22yr ago during a chassis-up rebuild. New steering ball joints, swivel balls/ seals, steering box. Would suit a Series-Land-Rover-Lover and/ or military vehicle enthusiast looking for an out of the ordinary individual vehicle to renovate. I will answer any questions as promptly and honestly as possible and, although this is a modified renovation vehicle, I believe it still has a great future as an Historic Military Land-Rover and will make somebody smile while driving it once again.
