Description

FINAL REDUCTION BEFORE GOING OFF MARKET.
Jaguar E Type Roadster V12 Auto.
Owned for 25 years.
Genuine UK RHD Roadster.
1st owner P Watts, Burgess Hill.
2nd owner my father.
3rd owner in Cheshire.
4th owner in Manchester.
5th owner me.
Thick history file with all bills, photos of 1990's bare metal repaint etc.
Heritage certificate.

Well maintained and driven regularly. Le Mans Classic 2023. Goodwood Revival 2024 etc.

Excellent oil pressure. This E Type drives brilliantly with it's uprated suspension - uprated torsion bars, Gaz shocks front and rear, replacement springs front and rear and poly bushes - and excellent brakes - EBC vented and grooved discs, EBC green Stuff pads, stainless braided Goodridge hoses all round and brand new Lockheed master cylinder - .

It keeps cool with a brand new aluminium radiator, aluminium cowl, modern SPAL fans, aluminium header tank, thermostatic and manual override for the twin fans together with a newly rebuilt water pump.

The car sounds great through the stainless exhaust with fan tail and the uprated ignition, recent belts and four perfectly balanced Strombergs keep everything ticking over as it should.

The automatic transmission shifts as it should and kick down gets the turbine V12 growling and swooshing. I tend to use the auto shifter if I want to keep it in 2nd gear on twisty country roads. The car has impressive acceleration even today. Rocket ship standards in 1973 of course. You won't believe me when I say this, as you may have pre-conceived ideas fed by popular myths but you want an auto box with a V12 E Type. You don't want the heavy clutch pedal of the manual and this engine is perfectly matched with this gearbox. You leave your house to go for a drive and immediately encounter traffic... do you want to crawl in 1st gear, constantly depressing the clutch? No, just let the automatic gearbox take that effort away and when you each the open road, kick down or shift the manual lever and away you go...... A 6 cylinder E Type, I want a manual. A V12, I want an auto.

Significant expenditure in my ownership has included the following;
Top end engine rebuild by Ric Wood (historic racer).
Gearbox rebuild.
New springs, Gaz shock absorbers, poly bushes, brake calipers, braided brake hoses, grooved front discs.
Uprated front torsion bars (thicker).
Aluminium radiator, fan shroud, fans and header tank (2024).
New Pilkington windscreen (2024).
New heater box, valve and cables.
New trim fitted by Aldridge Trimming - Mohair hood, seat bases, carpets.
Stainless exhaust.
Blockley Radials all round.
Spin on oil filter conversion
Rob Beere power steering valve adjuster
Engine and gearbox mountings
May 2025 had new brake master cylinder, water pump rebuilt.

Priced to sell and to reflect some body and paint imperfections. You can jump in and drive anywhere in this E Type. It will get you there without drama.

Please call to discuss the car. It is based in North East Cheshire.
Possible part-ex candidates: MGA 1600, TR3, Jag/ Daimler 420, Jaguar MK1, Allard, etc.
