1989 MG Montego 2. 0i in flame red. New MOT with all advisories sorted from the fail sheet, 112034 miles and owned since 2020 with 5 former keepers.
Electric front windows, electric mirrors, electric sunroof that only tilts and does not slide. I think it needs adjusting and also does need the seal replacing. Radio/ cassette, good dash with only one tiny crack and good headlining.
In overall good condition but the lacquer has peeled on the bonnet, boot and roof. The bottom of the drivers door will need attention but all other doors are ok. It's been welded for the MOT on the rear box sections which is a common rust issue with Montego's, rear arches are solid but do need tidying. Various age related marks on the body but it is 37 years old. In 3 years the car will be tax and MOT exempt.
New center exhaust section and a stainless steel rear exhaust box.
The headgasket has been replaced with the cylinder head being skimmed with the valves reset, the engine is very quiet and pulls well. New brake lines where needed with the front calipers rebuilt, new master cylinder and new rear brake cylinders. Nice gearbox with lovely gear changes. Added extra with the car is the Montego boot tray.
This is a a good useable car that is increasingly rare these days. You can drive the car and gradually improve as you see fit.
Loss of storage forces the reluctant sale
