Description
Hello, today L'Atelier des 1000 is offering for sale this superb ACMA Vespa 400 in this elegant configuration, with a white colour scheme to match the navy blue and white interior, as well as a wicker trunk for your Italian-style picnics. Although designed under Piaggio patents, this Vespa 400 is produced by ACMA in France. It offers a great alternative to its Italian rival, the famous Fiat 500, while being 100 kg lighter. The model we are offering was produced in 1959. It therefore benefits from improvements missing from the first generations, including more power, the addition of indicators, new bumpers and an aluminium cooling turbine. It has a 'Luxury' finish, which means it comes with a pair of windscreen wipers and more interior trim. Mechanically, the car performs well. The 2-stroke engine starts from a standing start without any noise or smoke, and develops its full 14 bhp at just 380 kg. The gearbox locks and guides perfectly, while the clutch shows no signs of weakness. A basic service will be carried out before the sale. An electronic ignition has been fitted to improve reliability. The exhaust shows no signs of rust; it offers a smooth sound, ideal for cruising. All the running gear behaves well and offers an agile ride. There's no abnormal play in the steering, and the suspension does its job perfectly. The original wheels come with their original chrome hubcaps, and are fitted with Michelin tyres. The paintwork is uniform and bright, the windows are aligned correctly, and the chrome is shiny. The cabin is well cared for; the two-tone blue and white upholstery is in excellent condition and provides a good seat.
The original two-spoke steering wheel is well preserved. The soft top, recently replaced, is in excellent condition and is a nice reminder of the blue upholstery.
