This Holden Rodeo vehicle was built by ISUZU in Japan and marketed in Australia under the GM-Holden brand for marketing reasons, but it is actually an ISUZU Faster, a precursor to the popular D-Max. It is an excellent 4x4 that I brought back for my use in France but my plans have changed.
It can be used immediately without registration on private land such as a farm or a vineyard where it will excel at the task. I was unable to obtain a COC from ISUZU France necessary for quick registration. It must therefore either go through the Mines for registration in France, or wait to be registered as a 'collection' vehicle in 2028 for a simplified process that will not require it.
Its powerful 3. 2L V6 engine (140 kW / 188 hp / 9 CV) with a 4x4 transfer case makes it a true workhorse, highly capable and functional, with its aluminium platform and extended roof rack, tow hitch, and tool box. Five-seat cabin.
This model has proven itself in a country with famously demanding conditions where its commercial success rivalled Toyota Hilux sales.
This pickup has been pampered its whole life and is in excellent running order. Its mechanicals, bodywork, interior and exterior are immaculate and in original condition. Maintenance is routine, the cambelt has recently been replaced, the All-Terrain tyres are new as is the battery, and nothing to spend. These vehicles whose reliability is legendary are incredibly robust and capable of lasting 500, 000–800, 000 km. It is an easy vehicle to repair, with parts very widely available.
Note, however: Right-hand drive, but one adapts quickly. Odometer in kilometres, like any European car. 283, 500 km on the clock but it does not show and still has plenty to give. Full service history since it was put into service.
