Description
Volvo from April 1991, 209, 000 kms with a B230F 2. 3 litre petrol engine producing 116 horsepower.
Vehicle in good condition (original paint) and equipped with a very rich spec for the era, including tan leather interior (with all four matching headrests), aluminium wheels, central locking, power windows, heated seats, A/ C (non-functional), polished aluminium roof rails...
Also factory radio + 2 roof antennas, tow bar, boot separator, 4 Volvo mats, front door pockets intact which is rare as they were removed preventively).
Estate car with a particularly torquey engine, very pleasant to drive and still stylish despite its 35 years, not least for its nice throaty note on acceleration... Handling and braking OK.
I am the fourth owner (for just over 2 years) of this vehicle which I used up to March 2025 (about 7, 000 km in the last 18 months, i. e. 400 km/ month on average).
I have decided to sell this Volvo – with regret – due to too little use and, above all, the lack of a suitable garage.
The car, which always starts first time, requires a few attentions in view of the next technical inspection: small gear wheel of the odometer to replace (well-known issue: 202, 623 km at the last inspection in 2023, then shortly after stop at 202, 685!), right chrome tailgate hinge to replace (long sought but found and supplied, it was, incidentally, the initial cause of the stop) as well as a proper service and oil change which will be an opportunity to pre-emptively treat a few micro-points of rust.
I have been as transparent as possible about the qualities and faults of this sublime 245 richly equipped, rare and with very low mileage (Histovec certificate available: nothing abnormal);
Regarding the major servicing (excluding oil changes and routine minor maintenance):
- clutch+bearing, rear Bilstein B4 shock absorbers + springs and exhaust system: 2021
- timing belt/ water pump and belts: end 2018 at 195, 000
and for info: braking and exhaust line: 2023, ignition cap, spark plug wires, plugs etc: 2022, Bosch battery this year
I also include 2 rear lights, a timing belt/ water pump kit with accessories, the tailgate hinge, and various bits.
Regarding the MOT: as the vehicle is over 30 years old it can be registered as a heritage vehicle with an MOT every 5 years; in its current state, lacking a valid MOT, the Volvo would be taken off the road.
Price is €6, 800 (Slightly negotiable on site in front of the vehicle, not over the phone).
PS: Trade considered against a Saab 900 Classic coupe, only in the 16-valve turbo 175 or 185 horsepower version, possibly in BP.
