Introduced in 1956, the Austin-Healey 100/ 6, worthy heir to the BN1 and BN2, marked a major evolution in the Healey range with the adoption of the inline six, offering more smoothness and performance while preserving the marque's cherished sporting character. The BN6 version, in a two-seater configuration, is particularly sought after for its balance, driving pleasure and clean lines.
Originally from the United States, it was registered in 1958 and imported by its current owner in 2019.
On arrival in France it underwent a thorough overhaul to ensure this example is perfectly road-ready.
The engine is sound; it expresses itself through a throaty six-cylinder Healey note, and its tuning is entirely satisfactory.
Recent work includes an ignition refresh, with replacement of the points, capacitor and spark plugs.
On the fuel side, the petrol pump has been replaced and the tank has benefited from a rebuild by a specialist.
The belts and battery have also been replaced.
Finally, an electric fan and a thermostat switch have been added to improve reliability.
The gearbox engages correctly and benefits from overdrive; both the gearbox and the differential have recently been drained and lubricated.
The clutch is fully functional, showing no signs of wear, and the slave cylinder is new.
The suspension performs perfectly while the running gear is firm. No abnormal play in the steering is detected, thanks in particular to the replacement of the tie-rod bushings as well as the anti-roll bar mountings and clamps.
Braking is sound and balanced. It was recently overhauled, including the replacement of the master cylinder, the reservoir, the front brake shoes and the hoses.
Wheel bearings have been replaced recently.
The wire wheels present very well, and the tyres are in very good condition.
The paint presents well and offers a lovely gloss.
The body and chassis are free of perforating corrosion and the sills are in particularly good order.
All the chrome trim is perfectly gleaming and enhances the overall presentation of this Healey.
The upholstery and carpets are in very good condition.
The steering wheel and dashboard are perfectly preserved.
The instrumentation is functional and bears a patina that we particularly appreciate.
The black hood is in very good condition, and the car is supplied with a spare wheel, a tonneau cover and side screens.
Considering the condition and specification of this Healey, we are asking for €47, 990.
