The Atelier des 1000 is pleased to present to you this elegant Mercedes-Benz 280 SL R107, offered in a particularly attractive configuration with its Champagne Metallic finish paired with the brown/ beige Karo Leder upholstery.
This iconic cabriolet perfectly embodies the automotive refinement of the 1970s: the W107 combines reliability, comfort and a timeless style that spans the decades without showing its age.
A true concentrate of Mercedes craftsmanship, the W107 remains today an essential reference in the world of classic cars thanks to its versatility and its uncompromising driving pleasure.
Particularly appreciated by enthusiasts, the 280 SL version charms with the robust inline six, its mechanical balance and its great reliability. Lighter than its V8 sisters, it proves more agile, more economical to run, while nonetheless retaining undeniable charm and presence.
Our specimen was delivered new in Germany in January 1980. Imported to France in 2021, it has belonged since 2023 to its current owner, who today chooses to part with it.
This example has been carefully configured by its first owner, notably:

Mechanically, the 2. 8L inline six runs perfectly. It starts easily, with no unusual noises or smoke, and delivers a smooth, pleasant drive, with torque available across the full operating range.
The 4-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth, jerk-free gear changes, offering optimal driving comfort.
The suspension components show no play and the dampers perform their role perfectly, guaranteeing secure and comfortable handling.
The braking is strong and balanced.
The original wheels present very well and are fitted with tyres in good condition.
The paintwork presents well, it is uniform and has a good shine. We note, however, the presence of a few localized blisters on the rear hatch, which have not evolved over the years.
The underside shows traces of previous repairs. A on-ram inspection highlights a solid and structurally sound unit, nevertheless some welds have not been ground down, and the aesthetic aspect does not meet our usual standards.
This car, whose overall aesthetics remain homogeneous and value-enhancing despite some imperfections, nevertheless benefits from a very handsome configuration and sound mechanicals.
The body lines are within standard alignment.
The chrome trim is well preserved and contributes to the overall elegance.
The cabin, sober and refined, typical of the marque, has been remarkably preserved and remains very comfortable.
The brown leather and beige fabric upholstery is in superb condition, as are the veneers. A light, even patina underlines its authenticity and gives it undeniable charm.
This version benefits from a rear bench seat and a 4-seater registration, enhancing its appeal for both collection and leisure use.
The dark brown alpaca hood is in excellent condition.
Given its condition and configuration, we are offering this vehicle at €19, 990.
