The Atelier des 1000 is pleased to present today for sale this beautiful Triumph TR6 PI with overdrive, in an elegant configuration pairing its burgundy body colour with a genuine black leather interior, completed by a matching hood.
The TR6 stands out in the manufacturer's catalogue. Initially aimed at the American market, this little English car aims to be tougher than its predecessors.
The PI version was produced only for the European market and offers a clear power increase.
Our example was registered on 30/ 06/ 1973. Its owner acquired it following a restoration carried out in Belgium and has kept it for 13 years. From a collection based in Monaco, this car benefits from a complete invoices file attesting to particularly rigorous maintenance, with more than €15, 000 of recent work.
Mechanically, the engine runs wonderfully: it starts easily, with no noises or smoke, and its tuning allows full enjoyment of the six-cylinder’s pleasure.
Injected versions are known to be more performance-oriented but also more technical. The system has been serviced by specialists, so it is perfectly operational.
The ignition overhaul, combined with the addition of electronic ignition, provides modern reliability.
On the injection side, the injectors, the high-pressure pump and the injector pump regulator have been replaced recently, and an improved fuel pump has been installed.
The cooling system has not been neglected: an aluminium radiator, aided by an electric fan and an additional temperature sensor, ensures optimal reliability on the longest runs.
An engine oil change, the installation of a new bonnet insulator and a geometry alignment have been carried out for sale.
The gearbox shifts and locks its gears correctly, and has also had an oil change prior to sale.
The running gear behaves perfectly and the steering shows no abnormal play.
The suspension has been revised recently, the springs are new and the dampers have been replaced with Spax, giving this TR6 particularly pleasant road manners.
Braking fully fulfils its role and is balanced. The TRW master cylinder and the brake assist are new, as are the front discs and pads.
The original wheels are in excellent condition and fitted with new tyres.
The bodywork of this Triumph stands out for its excellent presentation, the paint is of high quality and has a beautiful shine.
A subframe inspection reveals a particularly solid car, free from perforating or structural corrosion.
All chrome is perfectly gleaming.
The genuine leather upholstery is in very good condition. The combination of black leather and burgundy piping blends wonderfully with the body colour.
The door panels as well as the glass are new, and the interior is harmonious as a whole.
The three-spoke steering wheel and the walnut veneered dash are perfectly preserved, and the instrumentation is fully functional.
The burgundy alpaca hood is new, and a new black tonneau cover is also supplied.
A spare set of keys is provided.
