ALFA ROMEO GIULIETTA Sprint Speciale 1959.
The beautiful Giulietta Sprint Speciale was the quintessence of aerodynamic design by the great Franco Scaglione when he created for Bertone in the mid-1950s. After designing the very pioneering cars and prototypes BAT 5, BAT 7, BAT 9 from 1953 to 1955 which impressed the motoring world of the era with the boldness of their aerodynamic styling, they entrusted him with the design of an aerodynamically shaped Alfa Romeo that could be produced even in small numbers. Thus, from Bertone's design by Franco Scaglione, was born this masterpiece of “moving sculpture”, which pioneered the use of aerodynamics.
When Alfa Romeo showcased it at the Turin Motor Show in October 1957, they described it as their “super-aerodynamic” sports car.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS had the best aerodynamic Cd on a production car that had been achieved during factory tests in 1957!
In 1959, when production began, it was regarded as the most aerodynamically efficient production car of that era. Up until then and for more than 20 years, no other car with a lower drag coefficient had been designed!
Our car is one of the earliest Giulietta Sprint Speciale produced, number 112 from the start of production in 1959!

It was sold in 1960 to one of the largest manufacturers in Greece.
It remains in the same family to this day from 1960.

The car has never been restored except for a new paint job a few years ago.
