MERCEDES CABRIOLET 450 SL V8 4. 5 from 1979, which today has 121, 000 miles, i. e. 194, 000 km. Starts very well and runs like a clock. Paint code 404 MILAN BRAUN, magnificent. Collector’s registration. Air conditioning, electric windows, power steering, automatic transmission, cruise control. Recent tyres. It comes with the car’s history in the USA. Original manuals along with the car’s factory release documents are included. The Carpass is also included with the car. Arrived from California in 2019 at 111, 000 miles, it has had the following maintenance: replacement of 8 injectors and 8 spark plugs. Front end inspection. Cruise control adjustment. Replaced door stops and seals, new climate panel (wood). Fitted with a new American-style front bumper, but with less overhang than the originals. Wheel geometry adjusted, four new Falken tyres 205/ 70R14. Engine oil change and filters less than 6 months ago. At Mercedes, replacement of the 5 engine belts (as a precaution) and tightening of the air pump shaft (invoice). At 114, 430 miles, automatic transmission service with filter change. Vehicle runs perfectly and is very reliable. We used it once a month for a weekend in Normandy. Paris to Rome has been done without any issue. It sleeps in the garage permanently. The soft top is in excellent condition, like new and without any particular defect. I treated it with a water-repellent product. No leaks. A layer of paint was refreshed recently (about 5 years ago). It truly has no faults. The hard top supplied with it is also in very good condition. The interior is as-new or nearly so. I added chrome seat belt guides, quite handy. Becker radio present. The car’s chrome parts are perfectly gleaming. Wind deflector included. The mechanics are healthy and the engine in very good condition. The camshafts show no wear (photos available on request); braking is effective (discs in very good condition and pads nearly new) and the running gear performs very well (photos of shock absorber efficiency available). Last technical inspection is clean. It will of course be refreshed for sale. I have an Excel file outlining the known history. If genuinely interested, I can send additional photos and videos.
