Capots Vintage, specialists in sports and classic vehicles in Lyon, present this magnificent Austin-Healey 100 BN1, first registered in December 1954 and finished in the elegant Old English White.
The first model in the Big Healey lineage, the BN1 is distinguished by its design penned by Gerry Coker, its folding windscreen and its 2, 660 cc four-cylinder engine, paired with a three-speed gearbox with overdrive.
This example has benefited from a comprehensive restoration carried out over nearly five years and completed in 2020. The bodywork, underside, chassis, engine, running gear, braking system, steering, electrical circuits and interior have been entirely rebuilt.
The engine has been rebuilt to a particularly refined Le Mans specification. It features notably a Denis Welch aluminium cylinder head, a DW1 camshaft, 88 mm pistons in M specification, a lightened flywheel, uprated valve train, twin 100M carburettors, a specific inlet manifold and a Le Mans-type air box.
The car also features a complete 100M exhaust with side exit, Girling front disc brakes, reinforced 7/ 8-inch front and rear anti-roll bars mounted on Unibal rose joints, as well as uprated dampers.
The wiring loom is new. The car also benefits from an alternator, a high-performance starter motor, electronic ignition with the advance curve set to 100M specification by a specialist, a battery isolator and an aluminium fuel tank equipped with an aviation-type filler cap.
It is fitted with a 100M-type aluminium bonnet with louvres and leather straps, newly painted 72-spoke wheels, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, a polished and varnished aluminium dashboard, and black leather trim with white piping.
It comes with its black hood, tonneau cover and new side-screens.

This is not a 100M produced as such by the factory, but an authentic Austin-Healey 100 BN1 converted to a complete, coherent and documented Le Mans specification.
