I'm selling this complete Renault 4L Billancourt engine (code 839 A 7 = 782 cc) from 1979 to be rebuilt.
It's in good condition, stripped down for an overhaul and never reassembled (a classic situation). I got it as it was.
The cylinder block and pistons are top-notch, you'll just need to fit new piston rings (the old ones were binned).
The bearings show no wear, no play.
One tappet is missing.
The timing chain and tensioner need replacing (normal wear), very worn.
Cylinder head removed, it's complete.
You'll also need to buy some new gaskets.
I'm throwing in a new cylinder head gasket, a new clutch disc (the mechanics are in superb condition) and new big-end bearings.
PS: the engine was running before I stripped it, so no nasty surprises.
Right, it's your turn to ****** now. The advantage of having the engine stripped is that you can check everything when you collect it.
I've also got the matching gearbox and the driveshafts, everything's spot on there too (bonus on top of your part).
