Description
Hello,
I am offering for sale this Citroën CX converted into a hearse.
Based on an estate model originally, this example was modified by Heuliez to become an "ambulance-capable" model with fibreglass roof extension, beacon light, bespoke tailgate, specific rear windows,...
It was in service with Guillon Funeral Services in Chalon-sur-Saône before being retired at the end of the 1990s.
Whilst these vehicles are typically equipped with diesel engines, this one stands out with the Douvrin 2. 0 petrol engine producing 106 bhp under its bonnet.
The 5-digit odometer reads 14, 625 kilometres, so we can reasonably assume it has already completed one full cycle and the actual mileage is therefore 114, 625 km.
After 25 years in storage, kept under cover, the vehicle started without any trouble on auxiliary power, the electronic ignition making the job easier.
The minuses:
Major servicing is required: tyres, timing belt, sump seal, carburettor adjustment, boot struts...
Engine radiator is not watertight
Rear suspension high-pressure hoses need replacing (leak in the height corrector area)
Door sills blistered but not perforated, battery tray corroded (typical)
Rear left jacking point bent (probably mishandled back in the day?)
The pluses:
Atypical CX both in presentation and configuration!
Douvrin engine very pleasant, running smoothly and without any parasitic noise.
Vehicle generally sound, no holes in the floors or rear wheel arches around the light clusters.
Trimming and upholstery still in good condition.
Exhaust system clean
This CX is viewable in the Troyes area (10), a recovery vehicle will be necessary.
The registration document is up to date, I can provide additional photos if interested.
Thank you
