Description
Original Ligier JS5 – F1 1976 Component
Rare and unique complete upper bodywork element featuring its famous "Phrygian bonnet" air intake, sourced from Ligier's workshops and associated with the JS5, the marque's maiden Formula 1 car, which competed in 1976.
The component was recovered in the 1990s from the bins at Ligier's Vichy factory by a local resident. It has since been preserved in my personal collection.
This is a particularly significant piece given the history of the JS5-001, whose bodywork was dismantled with various elements being repurposed during the development of Ligier's early F1 cars.
The component still bears numerous manufacturing traces and characteristics, along with fixings that have been removed.
An exceptional historical piece for Formula 1 and Ligier collectors.
