THE APPEAL

As automotive legends go, there are few more recognisable as the classic Mini. As versatile as it is iconic, the diminutive British vehicle was everything from a runabout to a rally car, style icon to a utility vehicle.

This one is certainly more from the utility end of the scale – a 1979 Austin-Morris Mini Van, unmodified and simply presented.

The van has been recommissioned recently after being laid up for several years, certainly since before 2005 when MOT records were digitised. Freshly repainted in Primula Yellow, it’s a charming and practical classic vehicle, ready to use and show, or moreover be driven as an instantly recognisable promotional vehicle. It’s also a handy way of owning a small van inside the ULEZ zone, as it’s exempt from tax, MOT and emissions legislation.
