1900 Alfa Romeo Micro Fiche Reader & Luigi Fusi Book
The Lot
This lot forms part of the carefully curated Blaauwbank Collection, which includes an eclectic mix of multi-generational cars and automobilia, stored in purpose-built, climate-controlled dry-storage hangars in the arid climate of Central South Africa.
A unique opportunity is now available to the Alfa Romeo Collector.
On sale from a sizeable private collection of rare collector-grade classics comes the following lot of highly collectable and rare Alfa Romeo pieces:
Copex Alfa Romeo Microfiche Reader
Fully functional, original Alfa Romeo dealership instrument
These fiche readers were used during the ‘70s & ‘80s at Alfa Romeo dealerships worldwide
These readers replaced the previously paper-based parts catalogues, with all parts now displayed on microfiche discs
Included with the fiche reader are 100s of micro fiches, covering all models of Alfa Romeo from the 1960s until the early ‘90s
There are also some Fiat and Daihatsu fiches, as Alfa Romeo SA was the distributor of these two brands in the mid-’80s in SA
The microfiches are all neatly stored in their original envelope sleeves and in a special fiche folder
The vendor tells us:
“Condition of all pieces is A1, like new. A unique must-have display piece for any Alfa Romeo collector or restorer, as you can now determine the exact OE part number and reference for each car.
This is just such a super cool collector's piece to have in your showroom or museum.”
The next special and rare piece on offer is the definitive book on all Alfa Romeos from 1910, by the historian Luigi Fusi, Alfa Romeo All Cars From 1910.
Fusi’s book is the Holy Grail of all Alfa Romeo historic data.
In his book, Fusi lists each historic Alfa Romeo's production details:
• Chassis number
• Engine number
• Year model
• Quantity produced
This is the Alfa Romeo Bible, and a rare and valuable out-of-print piece.
Some other rare and now out-of-print books included in the parcel include
• Pat Braden's definitive Alfa Romeo Owners Bible
• Alfa Romeo Spider by David Sparrow
• How To Power Tune Alfa Romeo Twin Cam Engines by Jim Katralamakis
• Alfa Romeo Giulia History by Pat Braden
• Giulietta by Evan Wilson
• Alfa Romeo Automobile by Joe Benson
• Intereurope Alfa Romeo Range Workshop Manual 1959-1969
• Illustrated Alfa Romeo Buyers Guide by Joe Benson
All listed books and microfiches are to be sold as a lot to a single buyer.
The vendor says:
“I have had much joy from these pieces, both as invaluable literature and as a display in my personal museum, and believe that the next custodian will also be amazed at this special and rare cache of Alfa Romeo history.”image.png914.78 KB
