The Appeal
The Jaguar Mark VII was responsible for putting Coventry's Big Cats on the map. Launched in 1950, and so called purely as there was already a Mark VI being built by Bentley, this car perfectly fit the philosophy of grace, pace and space that William Lyons declared as a mantra, and was further the car that the now much-loved XK engine was always intended for.
With remarkable performance - much further than you'd expect for such a traditional-looking saloon - the Mark VII was capable of around 100mph, and quickly became a champion of motorsport. Needless to say, they've picked up a very dedicated fanbase since.
This 1954 example presents an opportunity to acquire one of these handsome, multifaceted classics that the vendor reports runs well and is in very solid order for its venerable years.image.png2.1 MB
