This is a 1985 Saab T16 turbo fitted with the rare AIRFLOW bodykit. This kit was available from Saab in the 80s and is much lighter than the normal AERO kit, it is also fitted in a completely different way.
I have owned the car since 2010. It came as a non runner with no clutch, no key and a replaced driver door missing the Airflow panel. All was eventually sorted and the MOTs started in 2013 with a good history from then onwards if you look at the DVLA website. No body kit panel for the drivers door could be found so the passenger door panel was removed, a reverse mould made and a fibre glass panel produced from this. All the other panels are original and made of a plastic material.
The car has not been modified in any way and comes with a number of period extras.
The car had a major respray in 2017. All body panels were removed, the o/ s front wing had a new outer panel and the o/ s rear wing had a new inner and outer panel. A new windscreen was fitted at this time. Photos of this work are available.
Work carried out over the last 6 years.
New clutch recently plus primary shaft seal, engine and gearbox oil change.
Clutch flexible pipe plus slave cylinder.
Genuine front pads plus n/ s front caliper.
Genuine rear pads plus o/ s rear caliper.
Both window motors.
Fuel pump, bellows plus Air Mass Meter
Headlamps
Period extras include
Genuine Saab Momo steering wheel
Original Saab rubber mats plus boot mat.
Spare parcel shelf without speakers.
Saab dog guard.
Saab upgraded front speakers.
Dash tidy.
The gearbox is original and good, no noise or jumping out of gear.
The headlining is not perfect, it is still in place with a few pins to the rear.
Original wallet with owners handbook etc. Details of all previous owners supplied by DVLA. The car was originally supplied by Wimbledon Saab.
Location of the car is Braunton in North Devon.
This one of the few flat front T16s still running and possibly the only one with the Airflow kit still MOTd
