Triumph TR2 - Fully Restored/ Show Condition
The TR2 produced between 1953/ 1955 was equally at home as everyday transport, rally stage car across Europe or on the race track at Le Mans. Today original UK cars are highly sought after offering very capable motoring with 1950’s style and comfort.
At Milestone Classics we always like to keep a small selection of Triumphs in stock and simply could not resist this stunning short-door TR2. Fully restored by the previous owner over a five year period this body-off/ photographic restoration is a testament to his skill and knowledge – it is the best we have seen or driven.
Summary:
· Short Door/ Narrow Mouth Original UK RHD car built on 18/ 8/ 54.
· Heritage certificate, green log book + old V5's
· After a period off the road a body off restoration between 2009 and 2014
· Supported by pictures, written log book of work and invoices
· Mechanical work included new dynamo, brake/ clutch master cylinder starter motor, rebuilt steering box, lower trunnions, unleaded cylinder head, valve guides, timing chain etc.
All underseal removed from body, any corrosion removed and professionally painted in Triumph White.
· Finish is excellent - body colour underneath with black chassis & suspension
· Bumpers, Chrome Wires & Tyres - all new
· Stainless steel exhaust
· Car fitted with Overdrive and Smiths heater
· Side Screens, Hood, Tonneau, Half Tonneau - all new
· Interior – carpets, seats, sear covers - all new
On the road the car drives as good as she looks. The overdrive option means the TR is capable of keeping up with modern traffic, steering/ brakes are excellent and the exhaust note is addictive.
TR2’s are simply one of the nicest 1950’s sports cars you could wish to own and drive. Relatively rare this stunning example is eligible for the Mille Miglia although I would use her for extended road trips through Ireland and a long weekend at the Goodwood Revival this September.
