Rare example of Volkswagen Tip 11A, better known as Standard Beetle, built the 19th September 1953 and delivered new in Belgium. Exterior color Jupiter gray over gray cloth interior, incredibly preserved.
Despite from many other Standard samples, this Beetle was ordered new with chromed finishing and passenger sun visor (Option code M001), as confirmed by the Certificate of Authenticity.
The Export Beetle is better known especially out of Germany where, on the contrary many Standards were sold; this version was pretty poor, equipped just with the necessary: cables brakes, gearbox without synchro, minimal interior finishing, small parts covered by carpet, no badges or chromed finishings, no sound deadening, no fuel level indicator and neither the reserve tank.
The car is still marvelous, incredibly preserved, that's why it is so rare: most of these Standards was sold in West Germany then destroyed in the 70's/ 80's. A French enthusiast owned it for some years up to 2010, when this Beetle arrived in Italy and had two owners.
The engine number is period correct, complete of every detail, proper of this version: components as the fuel pump or the coil and distributor were used by the first Porsche 356 as well. Under the dashboard there is a mechanic oil temperature gauge, make Stork.
The car is complete of its spare wheel, reserve fuel tank, jack and toolbag; mechanical was tested during a long run on the motorway as results reliable with the 25hp engine extraordinary brilliant.
