970 PORSCHE 911 - EGT44J
We have recently acquired this stunning looking 1970 911 . Being a 1970 vehicle it is both tax and mot exempt.
A UK RHD supplied vehicle coming complete with a letter of authenticity from Porsche cars GB. It was Uk supplied on the 4th September 1970 as a albert blue right hand drive coupe . Its engine number was 6201562 and gearbox number 71077698. The VIN number is the details below.
Prior to the last owner buying it is has been rebooted at some point with a guards red carrera convertible body from an 80’s car complete with period interior, whale tail and black fuchs alloys.
The 70’s engine and gearbox have been replaced in favour of an 80’s 3. 2 carrera engine and gearbox, which incidentally has been fully rebuilt and drives absolutely fantastic.
The body is in fantastic condition with no repairs required and no rust whatsoever present anywhere. The vehicle has also been treated to a replacement hood.
Jobs for the “to do” list I think would be to recover the front seats as the cushions are ever so slightly out of shape and refurbish the steering rack as the most recent MOT picked up a small amount of play even though she drives without fault and the steering is very taught at all speeds.
The car has also just gone through a fresh MOT.
The way I see this this vehicle is the prospective purchaser has two options: enjoy her as is, as this is a very affordable way into a well sorted car in great mechanical condition needing no cosmetic repairs either. OR Put the car back into its original state and you have an incredibly desirable, valuable 911 on your hands - your choice!
I welcome vehicles in part exchange - modern or classic.
Export enquiries are also welcome.
I have included an extract fro the previous owners advert so you can get a good feel for the car:
Original date of first registration 04/ 09/ 1970 . Porsche 911 convertible with a 3. 2 air cooled engine. Previous owner Ms Willis had the car from 2009 to 2015 and previously Mr Clifton from 2004 to 2009. If you are after this type of car then this represents great value for money and only because the previous owner has lost the history. I have been on to Porsche to find out all of the details about the 1970 registration. the chassis number is 9110-20-0573 , a 911e dispatched from Porsche on 26/ 02/ 1970, original engine number 6205612, original 5 speed gearbox number 7107698, options were 409 sports seats 650 electric sunroof 651 electric windows, original colour of albert blue. 1970 model year with engine and gearbox under the number 911/ 01. As you can see the car has a later convertible body with the 3200cc engine. It only has a few mot’s from 2000 to 2006 and an invoice for a new hood in 2004. I used to work for Glen Henderson Porsche/ Ferrari in Glasgow during those years I learnt how to recognise a good, straight car as a dealership history was paramount for resale. I saw this car advertised relatively local to me so went to view. It drove, sounded and looked superb so giving hard thought to the lack of history I took it for a second drive, this concluded in me buying the car. It has great bodywork, an engine that pulls like a train, a great gearbox, very good black leather interior, lovely fuchs alloys, lovely hood and is finished in stunning Guards red. One might say my heart ruled my head, however owning for just over a year I have no regrets. My only reason for selling is that I have just spent in excess of £40000 on a 100sqm garage and I need to sell one of my cars to offset the cost . The car is only used in dry weather and I would only test drive the car in dry conditions.
I have seen these cars with bad panel fit and corrosion bubbling around various panels, badly worn tyres due to bad geometry, engines that blow clouds of smoke, gearboxes that are hard to engage gear, hard clutches and badly worn seats. `this car has none of the above. My thoughts were looking at and driving this car, does the lost history mean that much at this price? my answer was no. You will decide should you come and see and drive the car.
