"Sembra una vespa! It looks like a wasp!", Enrico Piaggio exclaimed enthousiastically when aeronautical engineer Corradino D'Ascanio presented him with the Piaggio MP6 prototype. Little did Piaggio know that seventy years later, Vespa would have evolved to become a generic name for almost any light scooter.
Throughout the brand's history, over thirty different models have been launched. One of the most desirable ones is without a doubt the 180 Super Sport, or SS180. This model, powered by a 180cc engine, features a longer chassis for more driving comfort, wider rims that are also found on the GS model, and a front fork with an improved shock absorber designed especially for the SS, GS and Rally models.
This 1st series SS180, built in 1968, is of an impeccable quality. Fully restored to the highest standards by a marque specialist, and with only original parts, this is a rare Vespa in absolute mint condition.
