The DB4 Series V appeared in 1962 and was the culmination of the model. It had the faired lights of the DB4GT, a chassis elongated by 9cm and a raised roof line giving extra space to the rear seats and the boot. It prefigured the DB5 that only differed in its 4-litre engine and five-speed gearbox. Moreover, a DB4 Series V was used with the DB5 in the filming of Goldfinger, making this model world famous. The Series V, equipped with the SS or " Vantage " engine, had 10% more power than the standard version, with 266 bhp, triple SU carburettors and a higher compression ratio. Just 95 examples were built, making it the rarest version of the DB4, along with the DB4GT, with a price that was almost equivalent.

The car on offer was delivered new on 8 June 1963 by the " Société Nouvelle du Garage Mirabeau ", 71 avenue de Versailles in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Equipped with a Vantage type engine, n°370/ 1173/ SS, intermediate exhaust mufflers and chrome wheels, it was the last DB4 ordered by the Parisian importer. The car's first owner was a certain Monsieur Otto who lived in Fréjus in the South of France. The car was registered 603 HR 63 on 14 June 1963. Otto kept the car for less than a year, as it was taken on again by the Mirabeau Garage on 16 April 1964 and registered 6887 RE 75. On 13 October 1965, Ernest Cohen, living in the 17th arrondissement in Paris, bought and kept the car for seven years. On 29 November 1972, an enthusiast from the Parisian suburbs became the new owner, registering it 7750 CP 92. As the Haute-de-Seine registration records have been destroyed, we have no details of subsequent owners until 2004. This was the year it was bought by the current owner, two years after he took delivery of his new Vanquish from the Parisian Aston Martin dealer, Auto Performances. He duly sent the DB4 Series V to Richard Williams in England to have the engine rebuilt and re-bored to 4. 2-litres, giving it a breathtaking performance. It was re-painted by Lecoq in the original colour, Silver Smoke Grey. The interior was re-upholstered in green Connolly hide, and green carpets, as it had originally.

In this ultra rare configuration, sold new in Paris and in this condition, it is without a doubt one of the most desirable examples of the Aston Martin DB4 Series V on the market.
