Every car has a story and here’s the story told by the original Chauffeur and previous owner backed up by a large history folder.. Delivered new to Jack Barclay of London in September 1979 in Peacock Blue and purchased by Norman Bloom (a top London Surgeon) . In June 1980 the story goes that Mr Bloom was invited to a garden party by his friends Mr and Mr Denis Thatcher. At the party Mrs Thatcher apparently remarked that the colour of car not only matched the conservative blue but also her outfit and the hat she was wearing . A few days later the car was presented as a gift and due to protocol it was registered to “Civil Service Supplies” but delivered to College View Dulwich London.. It was used by Mrs Thatcher until 1988. Subsequent owners included Lady Hammond of Starborough Castle , Tania de Thorpe Millard and then an avid Bentley enthusiast who in 1992 won an award at the Bentley Drivers Concours in1992 with 118000 miles on the clock. More recently and for 17 years or so it was owned by a California resident who apparently took the car all over including a stint in Japan whilst working there.
There is a large history file with the original books including two full service books and the original letter of delivery from Jack Barclay. . Most recent service work includes carburettor gaskets, brake work, new battery new tyres and new gear reduction starter. (The original starter motor comes with the car) The car runs and drives well.
