Description
Having just recently bought this car myself I am gutted I am having to part ways with it already as I need some cash asap.
Here are some of the specifics.
It has the culmination of holy grail parts which were accumulated for the right donor car which eventually came in the from of this beautiful Atlas grey 89 example.
The person before me having owned over 20 early golfs can say with confidence this is the cleanest one he ever owned. That isn't to say it is perfect however, minus a few little dents and a tiny burn on the drivers seat it isn't far off. The majority of the paint is original apart from the arches which had some fresh paint applied when they were rolled to accommodate a slightly more modern stance. The underneath is solid, not rust or corrosion at all.
The car has been subject to a very thorough and thought out 20v Turbo engine conversion. The engine was stripped and rebuilt before going in the car. I have a folder with receipts in chronological order with all the service parts and pieces used to convert the car.
Under the arches are a set of Ronal racing Magnesium wheels in very desirable offsets with Ronal stamped dishes and brand new tyres. The suspension is a set of adjustable KW coil-overs and the brakes have been replaced with much later, larger discs all round.
The car has never been to a show and was built to be driven as a genuine, reliable daily driver with the best, most suitable, in keeping parts for this platform with no expense spared. This isn't to be confused with most early cars with engine conversions, this car is a faultless, turn key example of a classic car retro modded to be used and enjoyed. The original key turns the original barrel, the lights, gauges and pedals all work as if Volkswagen breathed on an older car today.
It makes an easy 250hp and while it can be driven economically and pottered about town it is a pocket rocket of a car. Has a years MOT on the car with no advisories. Part of the value of this car are the rare ronal racing wheels which are valued at 2. 5k and are in great condition all round or scuffs or curbing at all. Just need a new touch of paint of the centres.
Pop me a message ion the details below if you have any questions I could help with. Asking £7500 and will need £500 deposit if you are serious. Open to offers but please don't be silly. Regards
Really don't want to let his go as its taken me ages to finally have a decent mk2 that ticked all my boxes, I just now need to free up some money again.
