One of two with this specification in the world, confirmed by the Italian Register. It is a pre-series model, quite rare in itself, and black (which was a color only available on request, not part of the standard palette in 67).
It is currently portuguese-registered but was imported by me from Italy (where all pre-series were sold) in 2006. The documents are in order and titled to me personally.
The car is in excellent mechanical condition, having always been maintained with the utmost care by me, I work professionally in this area (and am a specialist in these models). All interventions were documented photographically.
It has the original Cromodora alloy wheels with stainless steel hubcaps that were specified as optional when new, so the spare wheel is identical. It has the original tool kit and jack, plus owner's manual (in Italian).
It has been in my possession since 2006, and since then it has undergone immense works of conservation and restoration, namely:
- Original engine fully reconditioned and slightly tuned;
- revised gearbox;
- Revised and balanced propshaft;
- Revised differential;
- Brakes rebuilt in full, with everything new and upgraded to twin circuit master;
- Electric fuel pump with safety cutout and prime button;
- High power electronic ignition (MSD);
- Halogen headlights;
- New window winder mechanisms;
- New high-quality canvas soft-top (2014);
- Reupholstered seats;
- Cooling circuit flushed;
- New radiator (always with the proper coolant);
- Rebuilt and converted steering idler to bearings;
- Wiper motor replaced;
- Revised starter motor;
- All bushings, silentblocs and suspension balljoints replaced;
- Conversion to alternator (originally the car was equipped with dynamo, which I still have with all the original fittings and regulator);
- New rear exhaust silencer (identical in design to factory issue) just fitted.
I'm probably still forgetting something, but you can see that nothing was spared to keep the car perfectly functional. It actually was my daily driver for a long period at the beginning of this decade, and a very reliable one.
Works to do at the moment are just a few things of aesthetic order, as my priority has always been having a reliable and fun car to drive (I always build my cars to be driven - beauty comes later). It needs to be repainted because it was painted in 2006 but it was a very poorly executed job and it is peeling because of poor preparation. It has absolutely no rot (I can provide pictures), the structure is completely original and sound. The interior still needs to be finished, the seats have been reupholstered but it still needs new carpets and the dashboard reupholstered.
If desired, I can take care of all these jobs, at very competitive rates.
The car runs normally without any restriction, and can be driven anywhere. It has a current Portuguese MoT test, valid until March 2021.
