Chassis number 6410628 - first registered, according to the manuscript registration continuation book supplied with the cars history on November 30th 1946. HNC767 would have started its life in the Manchester area. The current owner and vendor has owned and driven the car since 1982 some 37 years. Presented with a small selection of paperwork including an original instruction manual for the car. The vendor drove the car to Auction a distance of some 30 miles and reported no concerns what so ever. The Rover 16 was announced during August 1936 but production ceased from around 1939 until 1945 due to the Second World War with the car remaining in production until 1948. The six cylinder OHV engine had a capacity of 2, 147cc and an alleged top speed of 77 mph. Notable features stated at the time by Rover where a "freewheel" hub system, Bijur-Luvax automatic lubrication of the chassis, and Girling rod actuated fully compensated mechanical brakes of 'exceptionally high efficiency'. Sold with an earlier style V5 document.
