Description

Very reluctant sale of my most rarest MK1 Golf on offer today bring one of the earliest available 1 1981 cabriolet with the original 1. 6 Gti engine, these cabriolets production in 1980.
The car is in truly stunning condition and is the most desirable colour light metallic blue/ silver. There is not a spot of rust on this car, the paint work is absolutely breath-taking and is fitted with the very rare factory interior which is in very good condition, with no rips, frays or tears on the bolsters or seats although a very small repair on the bolster in the original material.

The interior is in very good condition and all the instrumentation works.

There is a period stereo fitted which compliments the interior and the car sits on a full set of Pirelli P slot alloy which compliment the car and very good tyres wheels.

The hood is virtually unmarked and in exceptional condition previous owner said it was original but i have my doubts as it is such fine condition although the car is all original. A matching tonneau cover and wind breaker is included.

This car has had everything lavished on it over the years and no expense spared on maintenance and upkeep, it is only ever used in the dry and is covered at all times whilst in its storage. the tyres are first class - A1 condition and it has been regularly been serviced by all previous owners and this engine had a complete engine rebuild from the owner before me from seals, gaskets, hoses etc and replaced the entire fuel system from tank to injector seals all documented in way of bills and photo. The engine was strong and did not really require this work to be done but the previous owner was a complete Gti petrol head and done it but what a good job and the engine is so good, i took it for an mot in March 2020 and it passed no advisories, please check its mot history this car has not done no more than 10, 000 miles since 2006 and in my tenure of 3 years i have only done around 600 miles, presently on 119, 278 miles this is a truly great Gti.
Any inspection is welcome on this car and the car is breath-taking she pulls strongly through the gears, sits happily at motorway speeds and brakes sharply in a straight line, it handles like a Golf Gti should and is still a thrill to drive.

The car is in stunning condition and should not be confused with some of the tired thrashed out offerings that come on to the market from time to time. This car has been enthusiast owned its entire life and has been a cherished classic by its previous owners.

The car is a real magnet everybody passes great comments when its parked and when taken to car shows attracts plenty of company, in fact if it was your thing it would be an ideal car show car, the car is almost impossible to fault and would strongly advise that you come to see the car for yourself and see its condition, the car is 39 years old but is in truly fabulous condition for its age.

When i seen this car when for sale by the previous owner i had been looking for a long time to find the right one this truly was and when the previous owner told me what he had done it was a no brainer and even though i know this car has been looked after so well most of the owners in the past have been total Volkswagen fans and have serviced the vehicle there self.

There is not a lot to do to this car but drive it away sure you will find very little faults if you look hard like a minute chip an the back bumper but i can tell you this is a most fabulous car and very very sad to be parting with it and my other small collection due to major house move and truthfully the reason for this sale and absolutely no other reason.

The car has also appeared in a London gangster film based in the 80s, the film was a low budget affair and there is a CD included, car has history file to it, there is not much more to see about this stunning car and i know that if it is kept in its condition today this car will be a major investment some of the prices that are being asked are absurd some reaching up to 20, 000 as these are now most iconic cars i am asking £10, 950 and i believe that is a true bargain to the right owner/ collector, please ring or email should you need further information.
