E34 525 TDS Touring
With a heavy heart and after much consideration I am listing my E34 Touring. Sadly due to building work I'm not going to have indoor storage for it over the winter, I brought the car to show along side my E30 so it is not used everyday and I really don't want it outside over winter not being used.
Some brief info, I am classic BMW nut having owned my E30 for as long as I can remember, I had always wanted an E34 Touring. I started looking roughly 6 years ago, I've been all over the country looking at them in 6 years I only saw one other nice E34 but that had covered 250k, most are rotten, rough, stupid miles, or chaved to death! Then this one came up, full history, low owners, low miles, original, my 6 year quest finally came to an end!
So why a M51 525 TDS??? why not a nice M50 straight or M60 V??? I wanted forced induction, I've got plently of naturally aspirated Beemers. The M51 engine was ground breaking when it was released, it's a joy to work on and not only that the torque it produces is ridiculous!
Why an auto??? The 5 speed auto box with overdrive is perfect when mated to the m51 engine, at motorway speeds the engine will be revving roughly 1000 rpm lower than the manual box, good mpg is easy to achieve and you really won't match it with any of the petrol models of the era!
So to the car!
The car is in great condition and turns heads where ever it goes, works perfectly both the mechanics and electrics. Powerful comfortable, I love it.
BODYWORK: Very good paint, factory black shadowline, BBS alloys x 5, no awful dents or knocks, clean sills, arches doors etc... 1 small bubble on OS rear door guard and the usual marks you would expect to find.
ENGINE & DRIVETRAIN: Perfect, everything here is A1.
INTERIOR: Full factory comfort leather, armrests etc... No holes or rips, in really good condition, OBC, AUX headunit, electric pack, sport steering wheel. Only negative is the headliner has dropped in the boot, a very common thing on this age touring.
The car has had 3 owners, the first from 1994 to 2017 and has full service history, it has always been looked after well. It comes with 12 months MOT. With all the classics we buy, as soon as they get to Kernow they go straight into the workshop and anything that needs doing is done ie previous mot advisories etc..
HERE IS THE BRIEF LIST OF WORK THE E34 HAS HAD DONE:
4 new tyres, all brake discs, pads, handbrake shoes everything, brake pipes, 2 oil changes 2x oil filters, fuel filter, air filter, 6 glow plugs, inlet manifold cleaned, new inlet manifold gaskets, brand new injector number 4, leak off pipes, autobox oil and filter, Fuel lift pump, aux heater pump, new stereo loom, new stereo etc... Everything was done recently so the car is sorted and ready to go.
Along side all the work we have done to bring the car up to standard we have done a few performance upgrades, the exhaust has been decatted, the EGR has has been removed, so the engine breathes and flows properly! The ECU has been mapped. All these modifications have been done professionally and with proper parts no corners cut. Power is around 170-180 bhp, torque around 350nm!
The car wants for nothing.
