Beautiful and rare polished aluminium Spartan caravan, dual entry doors and fabulous birch wood interior.
Spartan was a US aircraft manufacturer, that made travel trailers and was owned by John Paul Getty, until production ceased in 1962. For history see: - details above
Like Airstreams, the frame of the bodyshell is all aluminium ribs (not timber) making them very durable over time.
This example was imported from Canada by a Frenchman, I have owned it since 2015 and done all the chassis modifications to make it roadworthy. This includes new Knott 2500kg axle and pole hitch coupling with mechanical brakes, new wheels/ tyres, new entry steps to both doors, 4 corner steadies, Al-Ko Mammut mover, under floor tank with macerator pump out system, restored road lighting. All this work was done by Southern Trailers in Hampshire. The exterior was polished again in July 2019.
The exterior bodyshell dims are approx. 6. 8m x 2. 3m bodyshell. Internal headroom approx 6. 8m max. The weight is about 2000kg, with hitchweight of approx. 200-250kg.
The interior is original and in great condition, with just some updating of systems and upholstery required.
