FOR SALE 39 year old classic Land Rover Series 3 1980 88” / SWB 2. 25L Petrol. This will be TAX & MOT EXEMPT from next year as it will be 40 years old. Original marine blue body colour, original chassis, genuine 59k low farm miles from new with original engine paint still clearly visible. Also comes with rare and highly desirable free wheeling hubs. One lady farm owner last 10 years+ before I purchased it. Part service history with original MOT certificates and tax disc from late 1990’s up to the present.
Since acquiring the Landrover, MOT done end February 2019 and full service done-
-new engine oil, new rear & front differential & transfer box oil change ,
-new Champion spark plugs
-converted the Lucas distributor into Powersparks Electronic Ignition System with new Viper Sports Ignition Coil,
-brand new Yuasa 900amps battery,
-new Lucas alternator & new belt fitted
-new clutch master & slave cylinder
-x4 new dampers
-x4 new GB / Sanderson’s parabolic leaf springs
-new General Tyres 7. 50 x 16,
-new gaskets fitted and rocker shafts and tappety tappets, etc. checked and adjusted accordingly
-preventative rust proofing onto original chassis & underbody done
-new ignition key barrel
-new fuel line & fuel filter
-new footwells installed, outriggers replaced and repairs, plating and welding done onto the original chassis
-bulkhead and chassis are in a very good condition for its age
-braking system are in pretty good shape
The vehicle comes with its V5 logbook in my name. Genuinely selling to restore another Classic Landrover.
The Landrover Series 3 is now mechanically, electronically and structurally sound. It drives really good and brings smile on your face when driving this legendary vehicle. Purists and enthusiasts simply knows what I am on about here as it brings back great memories from yesteryears! I simply love the patina body colour appearance inside and out and the battle scarred body panels as it adds character into the classic Series 3. Perhaps the new owner will have it completely restored to bring the classic Landrover to its former glory! I have done my part rescuing this lovely classic Series 3. It’s time for others to enjoy it.
