We are delighted to present for sale this extremely rare Series 2a Station Wagon, in popular light pastel green colour scheme, with limestone roof.
Externally, there are lots of period features one would expect of a station wagon - the bonnet mounted spare, vintage numberplates, wing mounted mirrors, safari roof, alpine lights and split tailgate - ideal for loading items, providing a seat for a rainy day, or easier passenger access. 750 tyres are fitted throughout in order to give additional gearing, superior economy and a stronger stance.
On the inside, there are three standard front seats, with a full front carpet set and front door cards giving the luxury feel one expects in a station wagon. The heater remains fitted in the passenger footwell, which is nice to see, and offers front windscreen demist too. The rear has a pair of bench seats, allowing for seven seated including the driver. The rear sliding windows and alpine lights give a nice, airy environment, and the deluxe trim gives additional sound deadening. Deluxe matting is fitted throughout, with a load mat in the rear too.
Out on the road, this Series 2a delivers a pleasing period driving experience, aided by the larger 750 tyres to give additional gearing and quieter cruising and the free wheeling hubs to further improve economy and reduce front axle wear.
