This is a kit car project and is currently not on the road. This vehicle is the 1990 Toyota MR2 GT. It has a very nice Ferrari 355 Berlinetta wide body kit.
This would make a superb hobby with the end result being your own custom built classic, or there could be a good profit left in this project if one decided to sell the car upon completion. These are very desirable.
The car has been driven previously but currently is not running. It has been kept in storage for the past few months because unfortunately I do not have the time or space to continue working on this project. As it stands, an engine will need to be sourced for this car. There are plenty of great options out there (with a wealth of information and knowledge widely available on the Toyota MR2 forums and Kit Car forums). I’d imagine a roaring V6 or another MR2 engine would suit fine. The engine is currently out, so the bay is open and ready for its new arrival. This car had the 2. 0L Turbo engine- I can also include this engine, gear box and the turbo for spares/ repairs as an optional extra. The interior panels and all parts have been kept safe in storage and will come with the car project. The car will therefore need to be collected by a vehicle transporter. I can recommend a very reliable local service that delivers nationally if needed.
This Ferrari body kit commands its presence as it is a wide body and very low to the ground, giving the car a striking sporty stance. Finished in the correct ‘rosso-corsa’ red, the paintwork is in good condition. There’s minor age related wear in places as to be expected, but nothing so noticeable. The interior dash and seats are black leather, no rips or tears, all in good condition.
If made by Ferrari, the 355 model is a £100, 000 car. The prices of these kit cars when finished have the potential to reach values of up to £10, 000 or more. Ferrari body kits could cost around £5, 000 in their day but are no longer manufactured to my knowledge, unless custom built. In which case, I would imagine this body kit would cost a whole lot more to create.
