Description
I discovered this gem in Salt Lake City USA.
Built in the German factory in 1959. It has Safari windows and all 11 windows are original. The previous owner had it for 8 years over which time he reconditioned or replaced all the mechanical components: Engine, gearbox, suspension, breaks, wheels, tyres, hubcaps etc.
The engine was reconditioned and bored out to 1641cc. A 12 gallon fuel tank has also been installed. We have a file of invoices demonstrating expenditure in recent years. It starts and drives well.
After I purchased it I commissioned a body shop in Salt Lake City USA to restore the bodywork before shipping it home. It now has new floors, dogleg panels both sides, outer and inner sills, full-length nearside body panel, two new chassis members, four outriggers and jacking points.
This split screen Safari is now a blank canvas for you to do whatever your imagination decides - this is the fun stage! Please call me, Keith, on the details below (UK) for any further details.
