Essex Motor Company was an American brand between 1918 and 1933.
In 1922 the production was taken over by Hudson Motor Company (Detroit) who continued the Essex name as a product name until 1933.
In 1929 Essex was the third major car manufacturer in the USA, after Ford and Chevrolet.
