Description
Due to having a number of other projects on the go I have decided to sell my 1974 Italian-built First Series FIAT 126.
This is the car that replaced the FIAT 500 and anyone familiar with the original cinquecento will instantly recognise much of the underpinnings, as apart from the body, little was changed under the skin.
I bought this car from a restorer in Puglia - Southern Italy where this car spent most of its life, as it had had a thorough respray and mechanical overhaul. This means the car looks like new, drives excellently and the motor runs beautifully smooth.
The paintwork on the car is impeccable as the respray has been completed to a really professional standard in a standard FIAT colour. As I have tried to picture, the undercarriage is in original condition with no hint of rust or corrosion anywhere on this car.
Inside the car has its original interior, which has a few marks and the seam has come apart slightly on the driver’s seat but these are easily repairable or you can invest in a new interior very cheaply at one of the many suppliers of parts for these little cars. I really recommend viewing to really appreciate how good this car is.
The speedometer is reading 86, 000 km which is around 53, 500 miles but as I have said, most of the mechanics have been replaced or overhauled so don’t worry too much about the mileage.
Being a certified Italian-built 1974 model (I have the certification from the FIAT UK club) this car is of course exempt from Road Tax and MOT testing. I have not had the car tested as it is absolutely immaculate but I am sure it would easily pass any examination.
I may also be able to help arrange delivery within the UK and even Europe if the price is agreed and paid in advance.
Any questions are welcome and viewings can be arranged, just drop me a line to arrange.
