1991 Mariner Blue 1. 6 Import Eunos/ MX5 for sale. Firstly; this car is one of the cleanest, if not the cleanest, MX5's I've ever seen. 70, 643 miles, 12 months MOT (last and only advisory was a tyre which have since all been changed). Recent service, wheel alignment and matching mariner blue hard top.
Exterior wise the car is in great condition, the paint for it's age is lovely with very few scratches/ stone chips. The drivers side front wing has been painted and has some lacquer peel which is the only real negative towards the paintwork.
The car has just had a full detail/ valet ready for sale.
Underneath is where it really shines, the sills are clean with no rust whatsoever, along with all of the arches. The sills have recently been cleaned off (properly), prepped and re stone chipped, I have pictures to document if you'd like to see. Truly a rust free car. Any inspection welcome.
The car has MK2 subframes/ arms/ suspension on for improved geo, currently on stock springs and shocks. Has MK2 anti roll bars which are a nice upgrade on a MK1. All of the suspension/ subframe components have been blasted, zinc primed and powder coated silver, as can be seen in the picture. All of the bushes have been replaced with SuperPro polybushes, which accompanied with stock springs and shocks gives a lovely ride but feels very tight and planted to the road. Has just had a 4 wheel alignment. It has a properly de-powered MK2 rack which is polybushed and gives excellent feedback.
All other suspension components are new: lower ball joints, upper ball joints, all anti roll bar drop links, inner and outer track rods and finally wheel bearings front and rear.
As for brakes, it's fitted with upgraded MK2. 5 SVT brakes with virtually new discs and pads all round, which are considerably larger than stock 1. 6 brakes. It also has a brake master cylinder stopper fitted, bias valve, HEL braided lines all round and has had fresh fluid. It stops exceptionally well.
On a set of stock MK2 wheels currently which are fitted with Avon tyres all round, all the tyres are in good shape with plenty of tread left.
The engine is a stock 1. 6, runs faultlessly. No lifter tick or unwanted noises, revs freely and pulls as it should. This car has had the power steering and AC deleted, so feels that bit more lively and along with weight saving makes it a really fun car to drive. It has a stock 5 speed transmission and type 2 open diff.
On to the interior, it is immaculate. The dash is in close to perfect condition with no visible marks, the centre console/ tombstone is in great condition. The clock and one of the centre console pieces are missing. However these could easily be picked up on eBay or second hand elsewhere if you wanted them. MOMO wheel is in good condition too. The seats are very tidy and have no marks/ rips/ tears on them, both headrest speakers work as they should too. Carpets and mats again are great.
Everything else is in good working order, lights, heaters, etc. This car drives beautifully and looks the part too. Arguably the best colour. The pictures don't do it justice, come and see it for yourself and you'll be impressed. Test drives for serious buyers are obviously welcomed.
