1969 Pontiac Firebird 350 V8 Auto.
First built at the GM plant in Van Nuys California in 1969, this vehicle was imported in September 2017 and I have been the only owner since it has been in the UK. I purchased in June 2018 from a specialist American classic car dealer.
I understand this Firebird underwent a full nut and bolt restoration a few years previous to being imported where no expense was spared. Although there is no paperwork to back this up, the car's condition speaks for itself. These vehicles were the same platform as the 67-70 Chevrolet Camaro. Many of the cars mechanical parts are shared with the MK1 Camaro, so spares are cheap and plentiful.
In 2019 the car underwent a full brake overhaul, including; new master cylinder, brake distribution block, wheel cylinders, front and rear flex hoses, and brake shoes all round.
The car is finished in dark metallic blue, with Weld Racing alloy wheels, and Bridgestone Potenza tyres. It drives beautifully and is a real eye-catcher. It is not a Resto mod, or customized it is as close to original as possible 51 years later.
Having personally driven the latest V8 Camaros and Mustangs, as good as they are nothing can compare with the sound and feel of the original 60's cars. They are a breed of Pony car that will never be created again.
This Pontiac comes with the desirable 350 V8 engine. All numbers match. The car is sold with full UK registration, also Tax and MOT exempt as it is a vehicle of historical interest. Very cheap classic car insurance. Fuel economy reasonable for a V8.
Two keys and Kenwood CD player.
Overall very good condition and always garaged with gentle considerate summer use only.
