This year happens to be the 20th anniversary of this memorable BSB Season that many fans consider as "THE" most exciting , action packed domestic race seasons to date.

Finished runner up to Neil Hodgson after a titanic battle all season where they famously traded paint several times. This bike managed 9 wins and 16 podiums in total that year.
Chris also had wildcard entries into World Superbikes aboard this bike, famously overtaking Frankie Chili on the last lap at Donington along with Neil Hodgson to take 2nd on the podium.
This is the actual bike that dropped a valve loosing Walker the BSB title in 2000 with only 4 laps to go at Donington.
To date this is Walker's best season.
Apart from removing the Motec dash and replacing it with an analoge kit rev counter this bike was kept orgional and on show at Crescent Suzuki until 2013.
Genuine factory XR-09 model bike verified and confirmed as genuine by Crescent Racing owner Paul Denning, Dave Hagen, and Team Classic Suzuki.
The Bike has enjoyed a no expense spared life in my possession is ready to be ridden and paraded.
It has attended numerous public displays in my charge including: Motorcycle Live, Goodwood, Chris Walker open days, Suzuki GB events, Classic Suzuki days, BSB events, Knockhill rewind classic, and Sywell.

An in depth profile of the technical history of these machines is as follows:
THE BIKES.
These bikes are based on the road going Suzuki GSX-R 750 SRAD bikes and were under development between 1996-2000.
There factory designation number were XR06 / 7/ 8/ and then finally 9. Made as the rules stated to be a "silouette" class that really is where the similarities to those road machines ended.
These were built by the japanese factory in an era where money was no object and where winning at the Suzuka 8hr, the World Superbike , British and American domestic championship's was of paramount importance.
These are essentially the last of the true Suzuki XR 750 development superbikes.
As a result every component on these bikes have been changed to the point that the only items to truely survive from the standard road bike was the frame. However, the frame did not escape alteration . They were strengthened, braced for rigidity and modified where required.
Subframes, Swing arms and linkages were replaced with braced, lighter, and fully adjustable items as were the triple clamps to make chassis geometry fully adjustable throughout.
Magnesuim was also used to reduce weight where ever possible.
The engines are where the true art lies, as the cylinder heads on these bike were hand made and are narrower than the standard bike. They also sport a set of removable inlet ports which had interchangable inserts to change the charicteristics to the desired power delivery for each track.
Valves, cam shafts, oil pump, water pump, Cranks , pistons, rods, gearboxes, were all completely replaced with the mechanical wet clutch system being upgraded to a hydraulic dry clutch system to handle the extra 55+ HP these factory engine produce over the standatd 750 engine. This was also made possible by the then state of the art 8 point shower fuel injection system , huge radiator to aid cooling, massive carbon ram air box and D port titanium Yoshimura exhaust system.
Brakes are Brembo monobloc with floating discs however Chris Walker liked the feel of the AP master cylinder so used AP rather than Brembo on his bike.
Suspension is supplied all round by Showa and was not available to the public or private teams.
All in all, true factory bikes of this era were essentially 4 Stroke GP bikes in the age where 2stroke 500 GP bikes were producing similar power but with 30-35kgs less physical weight.
When the 1000cc era arrived in SBK two years later the accountants had already started to take over and development budgets were reduced year after year in favour of electronics development.
