A very reluctant sale unfortunately. I haven't had this car long and have enjoyed driving it, but my fleet is going to be out of control unless something gives.
This a rare A4 2. 6 with the older 12v V6 engine. Whilst it generates a not too unreasonable 150hp, it isn't mega quick and instead is a lovely cruiser. It is almost whisper quiet at speed, that trademark Audi insulation in full effect. The 5 speed manual gearbox is reasonably unusual in this era. The car has covered around 104500 miles, which will go up as it's in daily use.
I am owner number three, Books and service history manual come with the car, and it also has a load bay liner, mud guards and a decent bluetooth stereo. The air con works, the tyres seem in good shape and the brakes work very well, apparently a trait of the A4. Steering is light and precise. 4 electric windows, which all work.
There is some caveats, which are typical of a car this age. The front arches are rusting in typical Audi fashion. The clutch seems high but does not slip. Upon researching this, apparently it is a B5 A4 trait and not a cause for concern. The central locking doesn't work properly, it only locks and unlocks the boot and drivers door. There is a couple of scuffs on the car. I have noticed a slight knock from underneath the car over bad surfaces, but it seldom occurs. There is unfortunately no belt history either, so that should be budgeted for should you wish to keep the car.
Again, I did really want to keep this car but given I own a 24v V6 Laguna as well, which needs far more doing to it, this drew the short straw as I haven't had it long enough to get attached. The date of the last service is unknown but the previous owner did it themselves, and the oil is very clean. It drives like it's been looked after.
I feel the price is very reasonable for what is an unusual model of a rarer car.
