NEW PRICE
An immaculate example of a much sought-after coupe in silver with black roof. This is a LHD with a rare 4- speed manual gearbox. It was bought new in 1961 and owned by the same family in Switzerland for 50 years as part of a private collection. It rarely went out on the road and then only in dry weather.
No expense has been spared in maintaining the car in excellent condition. In 1975 it had mechanical renovation and then in 1982 substantial work on the body. On both occasions work was carried out to a high standard by Mercedes. Since these took place there has been little addition to the mileage. Since 1975 about 35000km or about 20000 miles in total and from 1982 just 10000km or 6000 miles. The total mileage from 1961 is under 100000 miles.
Around 40000 euros was spent on these renovations with full detailed documentation supporting this. The bodywork is in excellent condition with the chrome pristine. The interior is the original red leather with the seats having a wonderful patina.
I've had the car for 9 years, it is MOTed each year even though there's now no legal requirement to do so. I have replaced part of the exhaust, a brake cylinder and that is about all that's been required. I've just replaced the tyres with whitewall tyres. The tyres removed were from 1971, all with excellent tread left. I have a report to that effects from the tyre firm and have kept the originals as evidence. The car has been serviced each year always using Mercedes parts.
Due to ill health this car has to be sold and the price has been dramatically reduced. The car is in superb condition and at this price is a bargain.
