1976 TRIUMPH TR6 FOR SALE
The Triumph TR6 is a sports car built by Triumph Motor Company between 1968 and 1976. It was the best seller of the TR range when production ended, a record subsequently surpassed by the TR7. Of the 91, 850 TR6s produced, 83, 480 were exported; only 8, 370 were sold in the UK. All TR6's were powered by Triumph's 2. 5-liter straight 6. The TR6 featured a four speed manual transmission. Construction was traditional frame. Other features included semi trailing arm independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15-inch wheels and Michelin asymmetric XAS tires; which dramatically improved the handling. The interior had pile carpet on floors and trunk, bucket seats, and full instrumentation. Brakes were discs at the front and drums at the rear. The dashboard was walnut veneer. Other factory options included a rear anti-roll bar, overdrive and a limited-slip differential.
This 1976 Triumph TR6 has just come out of long term ownership. As far as we know the car has the original 2. 5 liter straight six engine with a manual four speed gearbox. We did get the vehicle to start off of pouring some gas into the carburetors. When cranking the engine over the oil light went off and oil pressure went up to 50 psi. Last time this vehicle was driven on the road was in 1994. Previous owner had installed a high torque starter. Has power disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear. All five original TR6 wheels are there with red line tires. Steering wheel has been upgraded with an aftermarket one. All smog equipment is on the vehicle. Has the chrome front license plate mount.
The interior on the vehicle is complete but will need to be restored. Has the original dash with all the gauges and the dash is uncut. Has the original bucket seats. Manual wind up windows. The glass on the car is all there and in good condition. Has an aftermarket stereo which works. Chrome for the car is all there. Comes with another soft top, tonneau top, etc. The car does have some rust spots which are common on these cars. There is a new drivers side floor that comes with the purchase. Has both front and rear California plates. California car and has a clean title.
