Unfortunately, I need to sell my right-hand drive 1998 Mexican Beetle as storage is becoming an issue and my Early Bay camper must take priority.
The car drives superbly, is very solid and the body shell and wings are in excellent condition as are the floor pans. There are only two very small areas of corrosion which have been dealt with, treated and coated with Bilt Hamber wax. The underside of the car is in fantastic condition too as is the front spare wheel well and heater channels – additional images are available.
Highlights are as follows:
Full refurbishment and respray carried out in summer 2017 and the car has only done around 5000 miles since 2010!)
1641 engine with red detailing and twin DRLA40 Dellorto carbs and sports cam cold do with a slight tune but performs great as is!)
Stainless steel twin exhaust
Resprayed in white with chrome detailing
Porsche 2 litre alloys with Yokohama tyres (will need two new front tyres which are £60 each)
Bespoke red faux leather interior with white piping
Pioneer hands free Bluetooth stereo

It has been a great car to own and enjoy and turns heads wherever it goes. Performance is more than adequate, and the car makes an excellent air-cooled noise! The car will also happily sit at 65-70 on the motorway all day long.
It’s a real heart breaker to sell this car, but it’s time for someone else to grab the keys and enjoy it.
