Description
When Klaas Zwart, oil tycoon and owner of the famous Ascari race circuit, embarked on producing his own super car, he spared no expense in sourcing the finest materials and talent available to create his dream.
Named in honour of the first Formula 1 World Champion, Alberto Ascari, Zwart employed the skills of the UK’s best Formula 1 designers and engineers to develop and produce the Ecosse.
The intention was to build a lightweight super car capable of incredible performance combined with the ability to be driven comfortably to the race track.
Kevlar bodywork meant the Ecosse weighed in at 1250Kg with performance guaranteed by the mid-mounted Hartge-tuned BMW V8 producing almost 85bhp per Ltr.
With 0-60mph times of 4. 0 seconds and the performance and handling characteristics of a track-focused super car, the Ecosse remains incredibly easy to drive in normal road conditions. The Hartge/ BMW power provides effortless performance and instant torque capable of pulling easily from low revs in high gears. This dynamic performance when matched to a proven, space-frame chassis developed by Lee Noble proved the prefect formula to ensure the required results.
The project was hugely expensive and just seventeen examples of the Ascari Ecosse were produced. With only 7 models being made in RHD, this is the final edition car and no. 17 of just 17 made.
Finished in Deep Maroon metallic with grey leather interior and having covered just 11, 000 miles. Complete with a fully documented history having been meticulously cared for throughout by the team responsible for creating and building the car when new.
A rare and exciting opportunity to purchase the only Ascari Ecosse to have been offered for sale until now.
