First of all this is the only picture of a metallic blue Rallye coupe I could find on the net, it is not of the actual car.
I bought this car in Athens several years ago, my friend insisted he would deliver it to me, driving it to me in London freshly restored.
The car was totally stripped, the only rust we found was under the rubber window seals and very minor.
One door had a dent repaired as did the same rear quarter but less bad, he said lets go buy another door, there and then, I laughed but got in the car and sure enough an hour later we had another door.
Then he says it was not good enough, i could see nothing wrong with it, so back in the car and another spares place and another mint door. This time he was happy.
The car is a beauty, never welded, very solid body work, all the trim and badges were on it, the paint sun faded, the interior original black but also with some sun Damage.
The car he had running perfectly the next time i had visited, the old underseal was removed, it needed some minor body repairs.
Then the wheels came off, recession and Eu problems, the Greek authorities decided to collect every penny of tax owed, my mate got jailed because he could not pay his, work dried up, after paying his taxes i was low on funds and the car got put to one side.
I have asked him to send me detailed pictures, i don, t need to tell you how rare these are, even more so in blue it seems.
The car is still in Greece but i have lost interest in it really. I can soon get it here if there is interest.
I am not looking for a deposit, a gentlemens agreement is good enough and if you don, t want it once you see it, no worries, it will spur me on to get it done and get it here.
It is of course Left Hand Drive, they all are, it was not sold in the Uk. It is the 1071 SR twin carb engine, from memory only one carb was fitted for economy that often happens in South Europe.
The is no structural welding required, the front wings are excellent as are rear arches and sills, the dented door has been replaced, There is no major rust and it is a genuine and very rare L rallye coupe.
I have put a price because the site requires it, this is open to discussion, good ones rarely come up for sale and the only one i can find for sale now, is 24995 euro. The silver is not as striking as the blue with black decals.
